I would like to offer SFEDI Awards qualifications, how do I find out more?

If you would like to offer and deliver SFEDI Awards Quaifications you will need to be approved as a SFEDI Centre, we have different types of SFEDI Centres available. How long will it take to become a SFEDI Awards Centre?

This is very much dependant on what systems you have in place and what type of SFEDI Centre you wish to become. You will need to complete the SFEDI application form and submit to customerservices@sfediawards.com. If you have everything in place it is simply arranging an approval visit with one of our External Quality Assurers – subject to you being compliant with all the criteria you will then be recommended for approval.

What is the fast-track centre approval process?

If you are already approved with an existing Awarding Organisation we will operate our fast track approval process, we would ask for the majority of documentation to be submitted electronically and would usually conduct the approval over the telephone followed by a centre visit once qualification delivery has begun.

We recognise that by already being approved by an Awarding Organisation means you will have automatically met some of the criteria contained in the SFEDI Approval Application and we would not expect you to complete this again.

If you are unsure whether your organisation would qualify, please contact the SFEDI Awards Business Development Team via email on customerservices@sfediawards.com.

What is the SFEDI Awards Centre of Excellence?

We understand that a number of our centres are committed to SFEDIs vision of developing the enterprise and business support offer and may be involved in delivering a wider remit than that of purely delivering SFEDI Awards qualifications. As a Centre of Excellence there is the opportunity to endorse a centre’s own learning and assessment programmes free of charge.

Completing the Centre of Excellence application also allows you to demonstrate how you could work with SFEDI Awards in more of a partnership role in order to grow both the delivery network and the SFEDI Awards offer.

SFEDI Awards Centres of Excellence also have lifetime approval to deliver all current SFEDI Awards qualifications.

What do we need to achieve to become a SFEDI Awards Centre of Excellence?

In order to ensure that when an organisation or an individual approaches a SFEDI Awards Centre of Excellence they can expect outstanding service we do ask that minimum requirements can be met. These demonstrate that a centre can successfully support people through programmes and qualifications and that the centre is fully committed to the vision of SFEDI Awards.

If you are an existing centre or an organisation who would wish to explore becoming a SFEDI Awards Centre of Excellence but are unsure if you could meet these requirements, please contact our Business Development Team via email on customerservices@sfediawards.com who will be able to offer guidance.

We already deliver programmes that support enterprise and entrepreneurs but would like this to be endorsed, what can we do?

SFEDI Awards provides a programme endorsement offer that means you can provide your customers with recognition of achievement and use the respected SFEDI Awards brand. This endorsement offer is for programmes that develop the knowledge and understanding of individuals through training programmes that benefit small and medium size enterprise.

Our Business Development Team would be happy to talk through how we could support you with this. Please contact them on customerservices@sfediawards.com.

Would I be correct in thinking that each SFEDI Awards Qualification comes with: A Qualification Specification, Trainer Resource and Client Workbook?

Each qualification has a Learner Handbook and Qualification Specification. We have also developed learning/resource material for the Level 2 and 3 Aspects of Enterprise, Level 2 and 3 Preparing to Run your Business and Level 2 and 3 Starting to Run your Business Qualifications.

The learning material is exclusively available to SFEDI Centres.

Can a SFEDI Centre operate remotely?

We do have SFEDI Awards Centres that operate remotely, as long as you meet the Centre Criteria there would be no reason why you would not receive Centre approval. If we felt that further documentation or information was required, a member of the SFEDI Awards approvals team would work with your Centre and develop an action plan with agreed timescales for completion.

Do you run introduction sessions for new SFEDI Centres?

We do offer an on-site Awareness Visit to potential Centres. The awareness visit is informal and interactive and gives you the opportunity to talk with a member of the approvals team and work through the Centre approval application. We will also talk to you about the processes and documentation we would ask for you to have in place when completing your approval. The day will be tailored to meet your needs and will give the chance to ask as many questions as needed. The Awareness Visit fee is £ 500.00 + VAT plus reasonable travel expenses but the awareness visit fee will be deducted from Centre approval fee.

How is the Aspects of Enterprise qualification funded? I can’t see the qualification on the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) Website.

SFEDI Awards strives to ensure that as many of our qualifications are eligible for public funding as possible. The Skills Funding Agency updates, on a quarterly basis, their list of eligible qualifications and this can be seen at Skills Funding Agency Confirmation of Funding.

You should always talk with your Skills Funding Agency Contract Manager if you are unsure as to whether your current contract will allow funding for these qualifications .
