SFEDI Directory Relaunches – click image to see more
This week saw the relaunch of the SFEDI Directory (http://www.sfedidirectory.co.uk) in response to growing market demand, particularly from the LEP and Growth Hub network. This national resource allows organisations to check the experience and credentials of the individuals within the business and enterprise support community they are working with or employ.

Robert Turnbull, a Business Growth Adviser at New Anglia Growth Hub and someone who used the SFEDI Directory in its original form, said,

‘Having used it previously, it is great to see the SFEDI Directory in its new incarnation. It provides a great single point of contact to search nationally for business and enterprise support professionals who have had their credentials checked, which will help to drive up both quality and confidence in the support services provided.’

How can you get involved?

As part of the eligibility criteria for the SFEDI Directory is the achievement of a business and enterprise support qualification (https://gallery.mailchimp.com/bc7be8c5ed59a14d25e6cc48f/files/SFEDI_Awards_BE_Support_Professional_Leaflet.pdf) . SFEDI Awards centres can offer high quality qualifications helping to raise the standard of business and enterprise support professionals within the UK. This now comes with the added incentive of gaining access to the complete solution for checking the credentials and experience of business and enterprise support professionals.

Simply look out for the Approved Qualification logo on the SFEDI Awards website and qualification specifications to offer eligible qualifications to your learners.

The SFEDI Directory also now includes a diverse range of categories of business and enterprise support professionals from advisers, to consultants, to mentors, to trainers. Why not promote your staff members by them joining the directory and demonstrating their high level knowledge and skills.

And the benefits don’t just stop there, if you are a business and enterprise support organisation you can lend your voice to support the drive towards the need for a qualified and highly skilled business and enterprise support industry. You can see further details of how your organisation can support the SFEDI Directory by clicking here (http://sfedidirectory.co.uk/supporters/) .

For more information about these and other qualifications available from SFEDI Awards simply talk with a member of the team on 0845 224 5928 who will be happy to talk through your requirements.
Claiming Units Just Became Simpler

The latest update to the SFEDI Awards Registr8 system now makes claiming units even simpler. Not all learners want to work towards a complete qualification or circumstances may mean their learning ends sooner than planned.

Don’t worry you can still provide them with certification for the work they have completed giving them that all important boost to their confidence and self belief.

To process unit claims, where a learner will not be completing a full qualification, simply set the unit(s) to complete as normal and then change Process as Single Certificate to ‘yes’ and we’ll do the rest.

If you would like support in claiming unit certification simply contact a member of the team on 0845 224 5928 who will be more than happy to help.
Have you Heard of Prevent?
You may have seen press and newsletter coverage of the Prevent initiative that came into place in 2015 but do you fully understand your duty as a learning and education provider?

Full information relating to the duties that learning and education providers have within the Prevent Duty can be seen on the government website by clicking here (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/prevent-duty-guidance) .
To Register or Not to Register?

Unless you know the in’s and out’s it isn’t always straightforward on whether your organisation should be registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Now you can complete a simple online checker (https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/register/self-assessment/) , provided by the ICO, to see whether you should be registered or your organisation is exempt.

If your organisation is exempt then please remember to tell the SFEDI Awards monitoring officer during our visits so that the correct monitoring decision is made in relation to Core Principle 3.
Qualification in the Spotlight

With the changing nature of the UK population businesses are becoming more diverse and now available is a great qualification to support businesses to adapt to the changing nature of the workforce.

The Level 3 Award in Understanding and Planning Age Diversity Management focuses on those who wish to develop an understanding of what constitutes age diversity management, assessing issues related to age diversity management in a business, and how to develop a plan template related to age diversity management within a business.

Why not help your learners to develop the all important knowledge and skills and add this qualification to your centre offer today. You can see further details about this qualification on the SFEDI Awards website (http://sfediawards.com/qualifications/level-3-award-in-understanding-and-planning-age-diversity-management-qcf/) or simply call a member of the team now on 0845 224 5928.
